The result is complete fire ant colony control. Extinguish Plus Fire Ant Bait is best used in the spring or early fall, or whenever fire ants are active. The ants will feed off Extinuish Plus and spread the bait throughout the entire colony, halting the infestation within weeks. Extinguish Fire Ant Bait can be used indoors and outdoors on lawns, pasture land, rangeland, landscaped areas, and golf courses. This product controls imported and native fire ants and other ants, such as harvester ants, bigheaded ants, and argentine ants. Application: 1.5-2 lbs. per acre/ individual mounds: 2-5 tablespoons

Works slowly but deadly and kills the queen. Ants activity will gradually decrease over a period of days. Bait is put around the mound, not on top of the mound.
CONTACT INSECTICIDES
This is the quickest. The trick to killing a fire ant mound completely is to use a lot. Spray or use granuals on the mounds using a spreader or sprayer, and don't forget to treat all the small mounds.
RE-TREATMENT. Because fire ants are continually re-colonizing, re-treatments should be made on the emerging mounds throughout the year.
